my latest layout....

This is a special track piece I made myself especially for this layout.

and this one too......
they aren't hard to do using some old rails and staples fired from a gun... no need for glue

this layout is made to run a train on three cicuits, which one it goes on depends on which track the auto-3-way points put you onto. from station back to the same station takes 4 minutes for the fastest train I have.

Hi, what is your fastest train? I know there are plenty of 2 speed bullet type trains http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/plarail/lineup/sharyou/index.htm which are fast but I'm wondering if these all the same speed.

Since there are some 2 speed bullet trains that use C batteries and some that use AA, perhaps the ones which use C batteries are usually faster? (I appreciate both A and C batteries supply the same voltage and the only difference is size and therefore capacity given the same chemistry but I thought maybe they use C batteries because they use more power so the AA batteries run out too quickly, which would suggest they're faster, although of course they're also pulling more weight.)

From photos it looks like you have multiple different bullet trains. Have you ever compared them with fresh batteries and pulling the same load (perhaps no load, just the train) and found one to be faster then the other?

In case you're wondering, a relative currently has Plarail trains, largely the Thomas stuff (it was only replaced with Trackmaster in 2009 in NZ so there were a lot of special alst year). But I'm considering getting one of the bullet trains from Japan some time in the probably far future so I'm interested in the relative speeds.

Cheers

Sorry no idea about speed... but i do not bother to buy C cells any more since the AA cell will fit in their place...and adaptors are available too.

Thank you, the information is certainly wholesome! It is clear that the person is a guru in this subject. As opposed to some works I've reviewed on the point, the one contains brand-new ideas. The site actually presents dozens of entertaining researches on the live topics. My coworkers and I scan them on a constant basis.
